Skirball Cultural Center CA
The mission of the Skirball Cultural Center is dedicated to exploring the connections between 4,000 years of Jewish heritage and the vitality of American democratic ideals. The Skirball seeks to welcome and inspire people of every ethnic and cultural identity in American life. Guided by respective memories and experiences, the Skirball aims to help build a society in which all can feel at home. The Skirball advances its mission through: the display and interpretation of its museum collection and changing exhibitions; scholarship and publications; the presentation of over 300 public programs each year that explore literary, visual, and performing arts from around the world; pioneering school outreach programs; an interactive children's museum inspired by the Noah's Ark story; Zeidler's Cafe; Audrey's Museum Store; and outreach to the community. The Skirball welcomes over 600,000 visitors annually, including 80,000 students and teachers in pre-K-12th grade, mainly from public schools.
