International Tennis Hall of Fame RI
The International Tennis Hall of Fame is dedicated to preserving the history of tennis, inspiring and encouraging junior tennis development, enshrining tennis heroes and heroines and providing a landmark for tennis enthusiasts worldwide. The Tennis Hall of Fame at the Newport Casino, site of the first U.S. National Championships in 1881, was founded in 1954 as a shrine to the ideals of the game. Built in 1880, the Hall of Fame Museum's galleries chronicle the rich history of tennis through interactive exhibits, dynamic videos, and popular memorabilia from historic champions and the superstars of today. In Enshrinee hall, plaques commemorate the great players, coaches, administrators and writers that have been inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame.
