Communities In Schools Houston TX
Established in 1979, Communities In Schools Houston (CIS) provides student support services to at-risk youth. The mission of CIS is to remove obstacles to learning, helping kids stay in school and prepare for life. CIS is a campus-based organization that works with at-risk students in grades pre-K through 12, as well as with their families and communities, to provide opportunity, hope, and change. Our proven and recognized program model is comprised of six core services - parental involvement, supportive guidance, academic support, career awareness, social services, and cultural enrichment. With programs in 114 schools, CIS Houston is able to touch the lives of over 37,000 students and their families annually.
