Thomas Davis works to provide and promote free programs that enhance the quality of life for more than 2,000 underprivileged children and their families annually.
Selected with the 14th overall pick in the 2005 NFL Draft, Thomas Davis has spent his entire 9-year professional career with the Carolina Panthers. During his tenure, Davis has made a massive impact in the Carolinas – both on and off the field.
In 2012, Davis became the first known NFL player to ever come back to play a full NFL season following three ACL reconstructions in the same knee. He returned to action for the Panthers 10th ranked defense with outstanding productivity, recording 118 tackles, 2 forced fumbles, 1 fumble recovery, and 1 interception.
Davis’ community outreach efforts are extraordinary, his leadership in the locker room is unquestioned and he is an outstanding representative on the field.
Based on the principles "Educate/Empower/Defend," the Thomas Davis Defending Dreams Foundation provides a variety of programs all of which are offered completely FREE to participants. His annual youth football camp serves over 350 youth both male and female. The camp focuses on football drills, in addition to life skills such as healthy eating habits. On Thanksgiving, the Davis family and TDDDF serve meals to clients of the Battered Women’s Shelter. The foundation also holds an annual Christmas Gift Giveaway, both in Charlotte and back in Davis’ hometown in Georgia. As part of the foundation’s mission to promote active and healthy lifestyles, it distributes toys like bicycles as opposed to computer games. The foundation also hosts an annual Back to School Supply Giveaway.
